Canon EF70-300/F4-5.6 IS II U Lens
NANO USM technology makes fast autofocusing possible for photos, and smooth, near-silent autofocusing for videos.
NANO USM technology in the EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens enables fast, near-silent autofocus, whether you're capturing an athlete jumping for a ball or filming wildlife in its natural habitat.
For photos, it provides very fast autofocus to make sure you get the shot you want. When filming, the near-silent operation eliminates unwanted zoom noise from your videos. For added artistic control, manual focusing is also possible even when the lens is set for auto focus. This means that when you're shooting video, for example, you can gradually sharpen or blur the focus for dramatic effect.
The EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lens features the new integral Lens Information Display function for quick access to a wide range of information about the lens. This lets you see the information you need at a glance, then get on with shooting. The focus distance display mode gives the distance at which the lens is in focus, as well as an estimate of the depth of field, while the focal length display mode shows the focal length equivalent to a 35mm lens. In shake amplitude mode, the Lens Information Display calculates approximately how much the lens and camera are moving.
To enable this information to be viewed under different lighting conditions, you can select to read black text on a light background, or light text on a black background.
