The 27 in Maytag YMED8630HW smart electric dryer combines a generous 7.3 cu. ft. capacity, the Extra Power function and an advanced moisture sensing system for effective, even drying. Designed to handle large loads and garments of varying thicknesses, it provides the power needed to dry heavier fabrics while adapting operation to the needs of each load.
Equipped with steam drying functions, a Sanitize cycle and Wi-Fi connectivity, this dryer also lets you monitor and control cycles remotely to simplify your laundry routine.
The Extra Power function boosts drying performance on any cycle by extending time, heat and tumbling. This helps thoroughly dry thicker areas of clothing, including jeans, pockets, hems and seams, which may retain moisture even when lighter fabrics are already dry.
Simply press the Extra Power button to add the drying power needed for more even results with mixed loads.
The Advanced Moisture Sensing system uses an additional moisture sensor, an industry exclusive according to Maytag, to monitor drying conditions inside the drum.
By measuring moisture levels and air temperature throughout the cycle, this technology adjusts dryer operation to promote thorough, even drying, particularly for heavy loads and garments of varying thicknesses.
With a 7.3 cu. ft. capacity, this dryer provides plenty of room for large loads of clothing and bulkier items. The spacious drum allows garments to tumble freely during the cycle, promoting better heat distribution and more even drying.
This capacity also makes it easier to handle family-sized loads by allowing more laundry to be dried at once.
Steam-assisted drying functions help refresh clothing, reduce wrinkles and minimize static.
The Steam Refresh cycle uses steam to refresh garments and reduce wrinkles without requiring another wash, providing a convenient way to freshen up clothing between wears.
The Wrinkle Prevent option with steam continues tumbling clothes for up to 150 minutes after the cycle ends to help prevent wrinkles from setting in when you cannot unload the dryer right away.
The Quick Dry cycle quickly dries a small load when time is limited. It can complement the quick wash cycle on select compatible Maytag washers, helping you wash and dry clothes in less time.
The Wrinkle Control cycle uses lower temperatures and automatically activates the wrinkle-prevention option to help maintain the appearance of clothing.
For items requiring more thorough treatment, the Sanitize cycle uses high drying temperatures to eliminate up to 99.9% of three common household bacteria, according to manufacturer testing.
The Reduce Static option adds a fine mist of water while clothes tumble at the end of the cycle. This function helps reduce static cling and makes garments easier to handle after drying.
With Wi-Fi connectivity and the Maytag app, this dryer lets you manage various functions remotely from a compatible smartphone or tablet.
You can remotely start or stop a cycle when the Remote Enable feature is activated, receive end-of-cycle notifications and access information about appliance operation.
The app also provides personalized garment-care tips and diagnostic tools to help identify certain operating issues.
Designed for lasting performance, this Maytag dryer features a stainless steel drum and heavy-duty motor. These components are backed by a 10-year limited parts warranty, according to the manufacturer's terms and conditions.
Its front-load design also allows it to be installed side by side with a compatible washer or stacked using the appropriate stacking kit to help maximize available space in your laundry room.
Please note: The washer and stacking kit are sold separately.
Use of smart features requires a Wi-Fi connection, the Maytag app and a compatible mobile device. Some features may require a connected subscription.
Dimensions, clearances, and electrical, water and venting requirements should be verified in the manufacturer's installation guide.
