Exclusive Reclining Mechanism
Unique to Elran, the gravity-powered reclining mechanism was developed by Leggett & Platt, a leader in mechanism design. This exclusive reclining mechanism uses high-quality spruce plywood that resists warping and cracking, along with high-density pre-shredded foam for greater consistency, durability, and comfort.
Premium Padding
- Virgin fiber made entirely of high-quality Dacron (polyester)
- Crimped fiber (6 crimps per inch) for greater resilience and shape retention
- Silicone-treated to prevent compacting
- Hollow-core fiber (like a straw) allows airflow, offering increased softness
- No use of low-resilience recycled fiber
Unmatched Seat Foam Comfort
- Superior quality foam (density = 2.05 lb/ft³), compared to competitors' 1.5 to 1.9 lb/ft³
- Foam compression ensures softness (33–38 lb/in²), averaging 36 lb/in²
- Pre-compressed foam offers instant comfort right out of the box
- High-quality NO-SAG springs and a reinforcing rod ensure optimal weight distribution
- Felt covering on the springs protects the foam and extends its lifespan
Robust Frame
- High-grade construction spruce plywood, kiln-dried to resist cracking and warping
- Material selection and combination tailored to the part’s function for enhanced strength and durability
- Wood pieces are interlocked during assembly to create a reinforced structure
- TimberStrand® engineered wood is used in high-stress areas (e.g., H-beams), with no performance changes due to humidity or temperature
- L-shaped rear frame brace joins the arm to the seat, ensuring a strong pivot point and structural reinforcement
