The light stays on as long as an element is on and until the area has cooled down after the element has been turned off. This plenum, which draws air through the fan chamber from its hidden position under the air grid, is easy to clean due to its short size. The 9-inch and 6-inch elements in 2 positions allow the element to be more closely matched to the size of the pan for more efficient heating.

This JED3430GS 3-Speed Fan Downdraft Cooktop combines powerful elements with the industry's most efficient venting system (compared to hoods and downdraft cooktops). The ventilation system on this deluxe electric downdraft radiant cooktop operates at a maximum of 310 CFM to forcefully remove smoke, steam and cooking odours.
