The Marantz CINEMA 60 S2 combines 7-channel amplification, 8K HDMI connectivity and advanced streaming features in a network AV receiver designed for modern home theatre systems. Its 100 W per channel output into 8 ohms can power an immersive surround sound setup, while two subwoofer outputs help deliver balanced bass throughout the room.
Compatible with Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X and DTS-HD, the CINEMA 60 S2 creates a three-dimensional sound environment for movies, TV shows, music and video games. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization and DTS Virtual:X can also create a sense of height and immersion with a variety of speaker configurations.
The discrete amplification architecture, current feedback topology and Marantz HDAM-SA2 modules help preserve the precision, dynamics and musicality of the audio signal.
Audyssey MultEQ XT analyzes room acoustics and adjusts speaker reproduction to provide more consistent sound at the listening position. Audyssey Dynamic EQ helps preserve detail at lower volumes, while Dynamic Volume limits excessive fluctuations in sound levels.
The CINEMA 60 S2 is now compatible with Dirac Live through a paid upgrade, providing an additional option for users who want to take their system's room correction even further.
The CINEMA 60 S2 features six HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs with ARC and eARC support. Three of its inputs and both outputs support 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz signals with bandwidth of up to 40 Gbps.
It supports passthrough of HDR, HLG, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dynamic HDR formats, as well as upscaling of 1080p and 4K signals up to 8K. VRR, ALLM and QFT help improve smoothness and responsiveness with compatible games.
Newly added AMD FreeSync compatibility also helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering when used with a compatible source and display.
Built-in HEOS technology lets you stream music and group the CINEMA 60 S2 with other compatible HEOS devices in multiple rooms. Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 connectivity make it easy to listen from a mobile device or home network.
The receiver supports Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz Connect, TuneIn, SiriusXM, Amazon Music, Deezer, iHeartRadio and SoundCloud. It is also Roon Ready certified for easy integration into a compatible Roon environment.
The CINEMA 60 S2 can transmit audio to compatible Bluetooth headphones. Headphone volume can now be controlled directly from the receiver for more convenient wireless listening.
A future update will also enable connection to compatible Denon Home V2 wireless surround speakers, making it easier to add rear channels in rooms where running cables is more difficult.
Multi-zone functions allow different audio sources to be played in two zones. The 7.2-channel preamp outputs provide greater integration flexibility, while assignable speaker terminals can be configured for a second zone or compatible bi-amping.
The front panel features a USB port for audio file playback. A USB power supply is now integrated into the rear panel to power a compatible accessory without requiring an additional electrical outlet.
